analogue#1

video installation, 8 min. 45 sec. looped,

2018

(contact me to see the full version)

The video ‘analogue#1’ is a self-referential performative. The camera follows a chain of semichoreographed

actions that resulted from a series of experiments and improvisations.

In the video simple materials are utilized, like water, lamp, paint, a piece of cloth, in an attempt to evoke

a dialogue with the camera frame or the projection screen. I’m interested how I could create or edit a

digital image manually, together with the performative labour.

It is shot from a bird’s-eye view which allows us to perceive the spatiality of the scene. The image

appears more flat or two-dimensional and a realistic image more abstract.
